Dear guests! Welcome in our holiday house!!
First of all: we hope you will have a wonderful time in our holiday home
To make you feel “at home” a little faster, we give you some extra information about this house. We bought this house in April 2016. At that time there was only an old farmhouse and a large empty barn. The shed hadn’t been in use for years. The house was inhabited until 2012 by the Maljaars family who leased it for years (200 years!). We have opted for a major major renovation. We wanted to maintain the atmosphere of the old barn and the old house, but above all to make it a comfortable home. We think and hope that this has been successful. Here we use geothermal energy from a geothermal heat pump. This means that the climate (temperature) in the house is very constant. Underfloor heating has been installed everywhere downstairs. There are no radiators upstairs as we think this is not necessary in bedrooms. There is a thermostat in the room, but in principle it is always set to the same temperature. We would ask you not to change the set “settings”. You can of course set the temperature a bit higher. You can also heat the wood stove. Please only burn firewood. You can take wood in the wood shed by the container
In the kitchen you will find all the utensils you need to cook for a group of people. (The operating manuals can be found in the box (flap) in the folder). The beds are all covered with clean sheets / duvet covers. To keep the mattresses clean for a long time, protective covers have been placed around all beds. Should it immediately become wet due to bedwetting or the like. then we would ask you to immediately take off the sheets as well as the protective cover and put a new one around it.
A spare set for a bed has been left in the closet below. Please inform the manager at departure so that she can ensure that a clean spare cover is put back. When you leave, please remove the bed linen (covers and bottom sheets but not the protective covers) and place them loosely on the bed.
If the bathrooms are not used for a long time, the water level may be too low and it may start to smell a bit. This is remedied by opening the tap briefly. Always turn on the shower fan yourself! Towels are ready for you, these are for use IN the house only, not on the beach !!
We have a WiFi in this house, Hoeve Plantlust, with password: plantlust! The TV has 2 remote controls, in this folder you will find instructions for use in case the TV is not switched on. The hob is an induction plate. To make the pans last a little longer, we ask that you do not set the setting directly to the highest setting but first on a low setting, heat the pan and only then on a higher setting. If the induction plate does not switch on, it is on the child lock; by pressing the key for a longer period of time (5 sec!), it jumps back to the correct position.
A high chair is ready. The cot is at the very top of the hallway and you can (carefully) move it yourself if you wish. Please put it back on departure. Please put the waste in the container (and the glass in the wheelie bin next to it). Cardboard and paper are not collected, so please bring your own.
You can rent bicycles in the immediate vicinity. After our exit turn right now at the Noordweg to the left and after a few hundred meters on your right you will find a bicycle shop (Robbert Boogaard) that also rents bicycles. Akkerdaas two-wheelers will bring your bicycles if desired. Garden chairs and umbrellas can be found in the pigsty.
If you have a medical problem, there is a physician in Oostkapelle: Dees, Dorpsstraat 2
Tel no 0031 118 581276 Emergy line: 0031 118 580210
We have a sauna and pool table that can be used by the guests of the 3 different houses. Use can be coordinated via the sign-up list. The sauna is only cleaned during the interim cleaning, which is why it is recommended to wipe the sofa with the sauna cleaner in the cupboard near the sauna before your own use.
There are supermarkets close by. There is a Jumbo in Oostkapelle. There is also a fairly large supermarket in Serooskerke. There is a (great) butcher in Meliskerke. For the really big shopping you can also go to Middelburg or Vlissingen.
Upon departure, we kindly ask you to leave the house tidy and “sweep-clean”; i.e. the dishes are done and the dishwasher is empty and the garbage in the container. Glass in the wheelie bin next to it. Please return everything you have moved (inside and outside) to its original location. Please take the bedding off but leave it on the bed. Collect towels in the bathroom (s) but preferably not on the beds. Just leave the refrigerator and freezer on.
In case of early departure, please contact one of our administrators. Please contact him/her if necessary. report defects, etc., return keys, etc.
We have tried to make the house as safe as possible; the stairs and landing, however, remain very dangerous for the little children … So pay attention yourself !!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, in the other shed part and / or in the main house there are often also guests who want to enjoy their rest and holiday. Therefore, take them into account! This especially in the evenings; so please keep it quiet after 11 pm! Inside the houses it is very isolated, but when you are outside, you can easily cause a nuisance to other (sleeping) guests. We trust you will take that into account.
Finally, we wish you a very pleasant and pleasant time.
Sincerely, slso on behalf of Hein, Magdaline, Marc and Karien
